    The Waltons - 4th Season
I seldom missed an episode of the Waltons until college and my work schedule got too hectic to keep up. I seldom got to see the show from season 4 to the end. Now I'll get to experience it as new. I dearly loved this series about a warm loving family and their struggles during the Great Depression. It gives me some idea of what things were like for my grandparents and parents as they were growing up during this era. Maybe it's just a sign that I'm getting older now myself, but looking back at how self-sufficient they had to be, it concerns me that this generation wouldn't have any idea how to survive like they did. From an entertainment perspective, of course it's a matter of taste. There is much to be learned about life and family values in The Waltons. For me, it's much like a warm soothing blanket to cuddle up in.

Paint The Sky With Stars: The Best Of Enya
Enya's music has had the most powerful affect on me emotionally; more than any other. It grabs you in an unusual way that allows the expression of both absolute joy or profound sorrow, which ever you are experiencing at the time. From the first time I heard it playing overhead in the music store I was overwhelmed. It pulled me so strongly, I quickly called it 'music for the soul' and I had to buy it right then. 1997 and I paid $17.99 for that CD. In a hectic world filled with so much going on, Enya is perfectly soothing music therapy that should be played in every car, everyday on the way home from work. There are no 'bad' songs on any CDs by Enya. My copy is missing so I'm looking to buy a replacement ASAP.

Murphy Brown - The Complete First Season
I was pleasantly surprised to find the "Murphy Brown" series available in a boxed set and there was no doubt I had to buy it. The character and I had so much in common when it first aired back in the mid-80's, especially when she became pregnant. I too was an older professional, becoming a single mom in 1985, so those episodes came along just when I needed them the most. I related to her completely. There were times when things got rough and her strange combination of zany strength actually helped me. As with all sitcoms, Murphy might not be everyone's favorite, but for me she was a good friend. Here I am 20 years later, reliving this blast from my past and enjoying every minute!
