Certain discs do exhibit rattling, even with the newest firmware. This seems to be with very specific discs, e.g. Dunkirk from the Nolan box set rattles excessively while Interstellar and Inception do not.
The firmware to add Dolby Vision is finally here, after a few months of being pulled. I can't comment on the it as by the time it was finally re-implemented, I had already bought the titles I was interested in seeing Dolby Vision in on streaming platforms.
There are better players out now with the same features but better build quality and the same price, and if you want rock bottom players, there are cheaper options out there (including some made by LG themselves).
This player has zero reason to exist now.
