A magnificent, stirring translation. A definite permanent resident of my little library.

David Lean's Final Film
1 of 1 found this helpful Not quite in the same league with Lawrence of Arabia, Bridge on the River Kwai, or Great Expectations, this beautifully shot and acted adaptation of E. M. Forster's novel suffers a bit because of the confusing imagery surrounding the story's pivotal event. Nevertheless, it is every bit as intelligent and technically beautiful as Lean's best work, and the performances of Dame Peggy Ashcroft as Mrs. Moore and Victor Bannerjee as Dr. Aziz are unforgettable.

Very classy looking!
This is everything I hoped for; handsome, sturdy, and well designed. Buyers should note that there is a pretty strong smell from the leather dye when new, but the aroma fades with time.
