Really meant for facelift 2012+
Really really nice quality badge. OEM and perfect spec for the facelift smart fortwo grille. If you have a badge in the center of your honey comb grille, this badge is plug and play. If you have a 1st generation smart 451, with the badge on your hood/bonnet/service flap... you will need to get creative as your mesh grille does not fit the clips on the badge. There is a perfect place to rest it and use epoxy. It is still a better looking badge then the proper 2008-2012 badge. I would still recommend it. I've added pictures of our 2013, that this badge is meant for. Cheers.

Tough install, but not the products fault
It's a very difficult bolt to reach, to remove the factory baffle for install.
However that is not the aftermarket company's fault :) this product was super easy to install after the stock parts were removed. Great fit, sounds amazing and mpgs have improved, if I don't race it around too much. Thank you! We have ordered 2 and will order a 3rd for our smart fleet club.
