Works for running speaker wire under carpet
Would prefer a more neutral (i.e. white) so that it would blend in better (and not require painting) with the baseboard (which is typically a light/white color). But otherwise appears robust to handle strain from running under carpet (between carpet and padding, in my case) and taking a bit of 'wear and tear' from being occasionally stepped on. And is discreet enough that it doesn't appear to create any noticeable bulging or a visual 'seam' in the carpet.

Roku replacement
6 of 6 found this helpful Replaced a Roku Premier+. Loved the Roku interface, and generally loved the product. Unfortunately, if you have a sophisticated/complex Home Theater setup (or really any kind of sink device that is both capable and automatically senses/optimizes to the best of the vast array of source device video formats--i.e. HDR, DV, 4:4:4, 4:2:2, 4:2:0, combinations thereof, etc.), the Roku's HDMI handshake issues are just intolerable--which is unfortunate. It's not totally their fault--Netflix and other streaming apps are as much to blame for their incredibly unnecessary and annoying video "auto start"/preview "feature"/PIA that can't be disabled (which is even more inexcusable--they probably realize EVERYONE would disable it so they force it on you and don't even realize the issues it creates for certain technology setups) creating the need for an HDMI handshake with the sink device. But the bottom line, it became unusable.
The Shield suffers from no such problems. But the tradeoff is you have to manually optimize the sink and source device since the Shield requires you set the video format manually. On the good side, it does provide something like 60 different video formats. So odds are it will work with just about any sink device. And since I despise all things Apple, this was the best alternative heavy duty consumer friendly streamer, imho.

Good purchase
0 of 1 found this helpful Purchased a manufacturer's refurbished model. I don't think one can tell the difference beyond the packaging. Looks and works like new to me. This is an older model and does not have firmware support. But it can be controlled with current Logitech software. Works fine with Windows10. So far, it's been exactly what I needed. I didn't want to have to pay over $100 for a quality mechanical keyboard. For half that, this refurbished model seems to be doing the trick. I took off one star because it's not RGB backlight. But I knew that going in--just wasn't worth paying 2x the price. But would have been nice.
