they look good on the outside, but how good is the soldering?
I've only owned these a week. So only one thing will tell if they stand up to the test of time. Workmanship seems good enough. The metal is anodized with copper or gold which helps conduction and looks pretty though I always understood silver to be the best conductor, gold and copper have lower corrosion resistance. The only thing I really care about are the quality of the soldering, and since these are likely made in the far east, well ...

big, clear display
Hi. I've owned 4 different tuners which I use to tune my acoustic and electric guitars. They all similar operate by the same principal.
I even have an older model of the SNARK tuner I bought more than a year ago and I still use it. However, this current (new) model is easier to use. When I tune the string to and E or G# or whatever I wish, the display shows much more clearly that the string is tuned to just the right tension. More specifically, the line in the center that indicates you've got that note spot-on is much thicker than the older Snark model, and the competition. It's just easier to read and makes tuning that much quicker which means less battery used. I expect I'll get more tuning from a fresh CR-2032 battery on this new model of the SNARK tuner. Buy one.

tough case on the cheap. this case is adequate.
It isn't pretty to look at. It's also very plastic-ey. Sometimes the handle or case-fastener snaps off but it's easy enough just to snap these moving peices right back in place. Nothing has come off when it really mattered, and I don't expect it ever will. This case is just tough enough. It claims to be a double rifle case but there is no way I could fit two scoped rifles in there.
Fitting stuff in the case is a challenge since right smack in the center of the case are two columns (providing strength and reinforcement to the case). You have to place your rifles, etc. around these columns. Realize this is somewhat a hassle.
