Good simple preamp
I have a mandolin that has its own volume and tone controls but it gave a crackle unless I had them turned down on both my PA and mando. This eliminates the crackle and gives extra flexibility with volume and tone control. It also works to boost the level coming from a phone into the pa via its line in.

Good vacuum
Our aged Dyson DC23 Animal died in a puff of smoke after years of good service. The Big Ball Extra is a good replacement. It is lighter and quieter than the DC23. Its fittings use a different sized connector to the old vacuum but the Big Ball comes with an adaptor so my old fittings work. I find the new dual surface fitting less effective than the separate hard floor/carpet fittings.
The only negative are the on/off and cord rewind switches which seem fragile.

Excellent big zoom compact
I already have a Sony alpha 6000 and couldn't afford a long zoom lens for it, but didn't want to give up having a viewfinder and the image controls of the 6000. For much less than a new le s the HX90v does this, with less space taken up than with a new lens. Great little camera.
