Rain Gauge is Totally Inaccurate

I own an AcuRite 5-1 weather station and an old Acurite plastic rain gauge that was looking pretty beat up. Both rain gauges have always been in agreement about the amount of rain received for years. Further, the weather station has always been pretty close to local TV reports. Before I threw the old plastic rain gauge away I thought I would compare the new one to the old one. So to make a long story short, it has rained twice this week and both times this product has recorded almost twice as much as rain as we actually received. The look and construction of rain gauge is very nice but I wouldn’t recommend it if you’re relying on accuracy.

Well Built. Needs trigger lock when using.

The spray gun is well made. My only regret is that when I bought it, I didn’t realize that you can’t lock the trigger in the On position when using it for a long time. It would help relieve hand cramps if the trigger locked.
