An indispensable addition to the collection of any admirer of WIlde.

This set contains really superb performances of all the works by Wilde comprised in it. Every one of the works represented has been given nearly perfect interpretations by the distinguished casts involved. Glowingly recommended.

A fine recording of Mozart's greatest opera

The conductor of this version, Giulini, is justly famous for his "Don Giovanni," with many regarding the full-priced version on another label, with its starry cast, as one of the greatest opera recordings ever made; this version is also a great one, with its gifted and sympathetic (to Mozart's genius) conductor and another brilliant cast creating another memorable title for the Giulini legacy. The sound of the ecording is quite fine and happily (at least from my standpoint!) the audience is memorably quiet, with almost all applause having been omitted (very unusual for the customary raucous Italian opera audience, with Mozart likely inspiring more awe and respect than the wild frenzy accompanying Donizetti, Rossini, and Verdi. )The recording arrived very punctually and carefully wrapped, so that the disc was entirely protected in its cocoon of bubble-wrap. I was extremely pleased with both the title itself and with the service that sent it along its way to me. Warmly, James T. Richardson

Lorna Doone - DVD - VERY GOOD

Highly recommended purchase.

This DVD offered a really memorable version of this classic novel, one filmed on location amid the beauties of southwestern coastal England. The fidelity to the original story, with all of its twists and turns of plot, a key one of which arising from the complexities of British history of the late 17th Century, was remarkable. The cast were all uniformly excellent and inspired choices for their respective roles, with the two principal ones of hero and heroine really superb. All and all there should be no reservations about adding this marvellously well done film version of "Lorna Doone" to one's library of DVDs. It arrived very promptly and played without any technical problems, as well. Both vendor and product could be warmly recommended for another transaction at a future date.
