Not for all cats
Didn't really work on my cat. It would snag the mat and pull her hair which hurt the cat. Even trying a little at a time didn't work. It might work on some cats with thinner mats but not mine. I found that scissors worked the best. get the type with rounded tips so you don't poke the cat.
