Excellent performance, and price, Too heavy
1 of 1 found this helpful Great chain speed, much faster than the first gen that I bought some 7 years ago. Very fast cutting, like a gas saw of similar size. Batteries last about as long as a tank of gas too. I gave it only 4 stars due to its weight...very heavy, and the fact that it only comes with a 14" bar, which makes it nose heavy. I swapped it out for a 12" bar and am much happier with the balance.
I'm using this saw on a professional level an am pleasantly surprised by its performance. I would recommend this product to other tree service professionals due to its affordability, especially when compared to the 36v Husqvarna which costs approximately 3 times more for saw, 2 batteries, and charger.

Made with inferior materials and/or poor craftsmanship
The reason for buying this lock tumbler was to replace the original one that wore out after 100K miles and became difficult and then impossible to turn.
The new one has begun to manifest stiffness after only 50 miles and now has a 'lump' midway in the travel between Acc and Start.
I expect it to to fail prematurely.

Nope
2 of 2 found this helpful Definitely not a professional saw. It has very little power and gobbles batteries in no time. If you are pruning a bunch of small 1-2" branches then it's okay. I've pushed it and done some 3-4" cuts but I don't recommend it. First it's slow cutting and second, the larger cuts drain the battery.
If you're looking for better performance then spend more money and get the 36V Makita; it's a beast! and a quantum leap better than the 18V.
