Essential nostalgia for those who grew up with these wonderful playsets
When there was a huge fire in our area and we were evacuated when I was 8 years o,d, I remember worrying most about the possible destruction of my Marx American Civil War playset. It was spared but at some point was sent by my parents to goodwill. His magazine is the next best thing to paying hundreds of dollars for a used or replica set that won’t be used unless you have a young child you can tear away from the screens. Inspired my love of history (I wrote a 49-page paper on the Civil War in fourth grade) and eventual political science and history degrees.
