The Beatles - Abbey Road Anniversary Super Deluxe Box Set

Nice reissue package
This is a five-star product because it is a FIVE-STAR ALBUM, to start with. 'Abbey Road' was the Beatles ' swan song, and it has 'Here Comes The Sun' and 'Come Together '- both Top Ten hits.
This is also one the first deeper dives into the Beatles catalog, similar to reissue and deluxe-issue campaigns by other groups of the same generation. It pulls together outtakes, demos and different versions of the songs on the release and helps give more depth to the album, if you're interested in this.

The last in The Holy Trinity
What I love about 'Pleased To Meet Me' are the songs, rather than the concept that the album represents. With each ablum from 1981 to 1987, when this was relased, The Replacements began to grow from a sloppy Minneapolis gartage punk band into the alternative rock harbingers they later became. 'Pleased To Meet Me' is their second major label release and while it doesn't really break any new ground, it still has some of The 'Mats best songs on them. My favorite is 'Alex Chilton'.
I decided to buy this used because it's the third time I've owned this album and as much as I want to support Paul and the gang, I also have to eat.

The crown jewel of The Holy Trinity
'Tim' catches The Replacements at the peak of their meteoric rise from Minneapolis garage wunderkind to international college radio superstars. It's a more refined, slicker version of the 'Mats sound found on 'Let It Be' but it's got lots of rockers and hardly a bad song on it, except I always thought it should've kicked off with 'Left Of The Dial'. Oh well.
I decided to get this one AGAIN simply because I bought up all the Twin Tone releases (decided to chronologically and FORWARD instead of backward like I did the last time)so having 'Sorry Ma', 'Stink' and 'Let It Be' in my musical maw, well, I just HAD to have 'Tim'. Happens to be the 'Mats best major label release in my opinion, even though all of 'em are good.
