Fix for Harbor Freight air compressor
This worked for repairing my Harbor Freight 6 Gallon air compressor which after a number of years of use got a cracked fill tube. This is little different than the original - the connectors are not as hefty and there is a permanent aluminum washer at each end rather than the brass piece - but it worked fine. The biggest problem is that this needs to be bent in a complicated manner to connect the two ends and also fit in properly inside the hood. I don't have a tube bender but did it this way: 1) fill tube with firmly packed sand, cover ends well with electrical tape. 2) plan out WHERE to bend using broken original as template 3) do step 2 a few more times. 4) bend SLOWLY and CAREFULLY over a large dowel or similar round thingie firmly in a vise. Slowly will minimize kinks. Constantly check your progress against template and the air compressor. 5) Remove tape, knock out all sand, wash it out well (you don't want sand in the tank!), air dry, connect up and test.
