Poorly made item
I installed this motor the day I received it. I put the pellets ( from a new bag) in and fired up my grill. Every thing went fine. The grill started perfectly. About thirty minutes later the temp started to drop. I checked and found the auger had stopped. Took everything back apart. While doing so i noticed the pellets seemed soft. When i got to the auger it was plugged with saw dust and pellets. I took the auger out and completely cleaned it out. The pellets i had purchased were traeger pellets but were either old or had gotten damp which caused the auger to plug up. I reinstalled can then motor only to discover it would not work. I took it apart and found broken teeth on the last reduction gear. The teeth were made out of neoprene ( a type of plastic) instead of metal. Fortunately i had ordered some cheaper brand before seeing this supposedly OEM motor. I took it apart and found the main drive gears to be metal. I adapted this motor to my grill and have been happily cooking every since. I am not going to attempt to return this broken motor due to the problem with the pellets. However any one that has used a pellet grill for any length of time knows pellet problems are going to happen and we expect the manufacturer to know this also and make equipment that is up to the task or not market it as upgrade OEM equipment

1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased two of these motors at the same time so i could have a spare. I am so glad i did. It turned out that i made this purchase then checked my grill. Bad move. My traeger has an auger that turns counter clockwise. But i also have a pit boss and that auger turns clock wise so i still felt good about the purchase and went on to find one that claimed to be OEM counter clock wise motor. It was almost twice the price. I ordered it also. All of these motors came in the same day and i put the high dollar motor in my grill. It last about thirty minutes before stripping the teeth off one of the high torque reduction gears. The teeth were plastic. I took one of these motors apart too try to use one of the gears from it. It was the i discovered how well these motors are built. All of the high torque reduction drive gears are metal!! WOW! The expensive one used plastic. To make a long story short i ended up reversing to motor rotation and installing this motor and gear box. It works perfectly!!

1 of 1 found this helpful I purchased this machine a month ago. I have used it every day since that time. It came with a cow claw but i have since ordered a goat claw and i am looking forward to its arrival. Very satisfied customer !!!!!
