not automatic
you have to manually switch by hitting a button on the top of it, at least on windows 10 you do.

Cool product
works better than you think it would, you need to sit in a good desk chair, plug in and have a Bluetooth controller to navigate and you have hours of fun.

Its well built but takes some time figuring out the head attachments. Videos help.
