Great design
Well made, good value and easy to fit. It replaced a 10 year old Manrose unit that had suffered water ingress to the electronics. This unit has the electronics mounted on the top so should be less prone to drips of condensation causing the same issue as the Manrose one.

Powerful and lightweight
Excellent refurbished item - couldn't tell it wasn't brand new. Powerful motor, lots of suction, and very maneuverable. Powered heads are very good and battery life lasts long enough to do the whole house with a quick once-over. Only had it for a few weeks so cannot comment on reliability and note that the refurbished units only come with one year's warranty not two.
Overall, very pleased!

Excellent quality and ease of use!
Bought this unit as all the new HD camcorders just don't have the image quality of the larger sensors used previously. This HF100 sits in the hand nicely and doesn't weigh very much. Being card based means transferring movies is very quick (compared to my old miniDV camcorder). Image quality from the movies is excellent on my 32" Samsung HD LCD TV, no complaints there! The stills are 3MP so nothing to write home about BUT the functions available as a digital stills camera are just the same as my Canon compact camera. Nice colours and metering is spot on too, especially with all the snow about at the moment (Jan 2010).
The build quality is very good, no rattles or anything loose and the bundled software, whilst basic, does the job to compile clips into a full movie.
I bought this camcorder from the Canon store on eBay as a refurbished unit, some very small 'rub' marks on outer case in a couple of spots but the lens, LCD display and everything else is perfect. Overall, very happy indeed!
