Excellent CD/DVD combo - definitely not disappointing!
This CD/DVD package is a really nice nugget of entertainment. I am neither a professional reviewer, nor will this be a professional sounding review but I just had to give my two cents worth. As a Ratt fan, it will be difficult not to be biased but there is no need to be biased when the material speaks for itself. Although most, if not all of the songs on this will be recognizable to the true "Ratt-n-Roller", this is not a "Best Of…" or "Greatest Hits" CD with compilations of stuff from their "LP's". In a nutshell: these are beautifully engineered, crisp renditions of pure, raw rodent! From the first few seconds of the opening track 'Round & Round' to the 17th track 'Top Secret' (yeah, there's 17 rockers on this thing!), I knew this would CD would not disappoint. This CD let's you enjoy the early renditions of their most potent rockers, with a little less reverb. Pearcy's voice is raw and clear. I am afraid I have to admit, I like some of these renditions better than the album versions. Great job, guys. About the DVD: absolutely raw, natural, uncensored, hilarious ("My nails suck!") footage of the main Ratster himself (Pearcy) just being himself in his studio plucking away at his guitars like he was tele-transported to his 1977 bedroom (he even shows off a 27 year old sticker from 1971 on his Les Paul). Watching this video, I felt like I was sitting there with the guy getting ready to jam on some Zep or Ozzie! There is nothing I didn't like about this. Get your hands on this combo when you get a chance. If you like Ratt, you'll love Mickey Ratt – The Ratt Era.
