While I recommend this book, it's with reservations; the design is striking, however some of text is so small and low contrast that it made it too difficult for me to read, so I gave up on it. Still, a beautiful book.

Labor intensive
Very interesting mechanism. But I had many difficulties getting to it and was unsuccessful in getting it completely disassembled. I'd hate to have to do that again.

A book about cotton? --you bet! And a good one.
The author provides information on a subject that's otherwise limited on available information--an arcane subject whose story needs to be told.
