Does what it needs to do for a great price.
This adapter is very affordable and it functions well (it doesn't have much to do).
One minor defect is the fit of the hex key (Allen wrench) in the adjustment screws holding the threaded, M42 portion of the adapter (two of my four Fotasy adapters needed the alignment adjusted when received). The hex key appears to be too small for the hex sockets, so it tends to slip, rather than turn the adjustment screws. Angling the hex key helps, and adjusting the alignment of the adapter only needs to be done once (a 1 minute job), so the consequence of this defect is relatively small.
Overall, for less than $10, the adapter is a great value.

Inexpensive and works fine
I was wary about buying a low-cost adapter ring, as I had read about some adapter rings being rough or not fitting well. This ring works perfectly on my Fujifilm 35mm f2.0 lens, as well as a 58mm Hoya filter.

Works great with sufficient preparation
I used this product to blacken the back of a lens barrel .Following the instructions is very important. Insufficient cleaning is usually the cause of poor results.
The original, black-anodized lens assembly had been scratched by an incorrect back lens cap, exposing the white metal. It looked bad, aesthetically, and was a potential source of light flares.
I first cleaned the damaged are with a strong detergent (Formula 409 on a cotton bud), then swabbed with water, then cleaned with isopropyl alcohol; the alcohol removed the black Sharpie used to hide some of the damage (a common trick among camera repairers). I then abraded the area with a grey Scotchbrite pad, then cleaned again with alcohol (as per the instructions).
I swabbed a tiny amount of the Aluminum Black with a cotton bud onto the damaged area, and continued to do so a few times within a 3-minute period. After that time the damaged area was black again. Swabbing with water and drying with a cotton bud finished the job.
This repair method was reasonably fast (less then 10 minutes from start to finish) and did not require lens disassembly.
