not for a dash cam.
for a dash cam it is not good. the screen does not turn off while recording. this causes night vision problems being it is brighter than the road.

Flexible
Why does a brand new car only have one acc. port? With all of the phone chargers, GPS, portable DVD, IPAD and more...
Well this is a versatile solution. Easily expand 1 port to 3 plus USB port. Having the flexibility of placing in a convient location with the long cable.

Fine unit
Prices vary much on these units between vendors but most appear to be the same. I have no complaints. There are a few light weight ones that are not worth it and some more heavy duty ones that where more than I needed. Over all, Satisfied.
Some units also only fit 100x100 vesa and not any other, so make sure you get what you need. This one gives more variety.
If you need heavy duty, you pay much more but they work more fluidly as well. You need light to medium, this is the one for you. (I don't recommend the lighter ones)
