vintage PiO tone caps sound extra smooth.

paper-in-oil caps sound ever so slightly different to me. there's a pleasant smoothness to them for guitar tone applications.

great cheap mic pre

got mine for $125 and for that price it's amazing. I bought it to get 4 more channels @ 96KHz for my UAD Apollo twin and it does excellently (only 1 ADAT in on the Apollo). No problems, sound is quite good. I don't think you'll find anything cheaper and honestly, unless you were to drop at least $750 you probably wouldn't hear any discernible sonic differences.
