Heat sink did not fit my E420
The repair technician found that this heat sink had an extra plate that the original did not have. Even trying to work around this, he found that the arms were not quite at the same angle. I wonder if I need a more specific model number than just E420 to identify the correct heat sink to use.
In any event, we were able to swap the fan onto the original heat sink, which solved my particular problem.

Did the job for a standard sized office chair.
I'm not sure what the 3.94" specification refers to - perhaps the difference between unextended and fully extended? I ordered it based on the word "universal" and then worried that it would be far too short, since the distance between the wheels and the seat on my chair was more than twice 3.94".
When it arrived, it was basically the same size as the faulty unit in my relatively standard office chair. Fully extended, I've lost just over an inch in height, which isn't ideal but my chair is usable again and it was a breeze to replace one with the other.
