Choices for Displaying the Bell X-1
The kit has many options for display; painted fuselage but hiding enclosed detail, transparent fuselage to show detail, cut-away fuselage to show detail, or find a 1/72 B-29 and modify for carrying the X-1. So many choices, so little time on such a small aircraft.

At last a 1/700 plastic model of the USS Wasp produced by Aoshima
This a detailed plastic kit of what I like to call the missing 1/700 aircraft carrier kit of the USS Wasp (CV-7). It was the only American WWII aircraft carrier not produced in a mass produced plastic model kit. Unless a modeler purchased a limited edition resin kit, they were out of luck. It will be much easier to assemble than a resin kit.

A Hat for the Northwest
I wasn't sure how soon I would use the hat since it is still snow season in NE Washington state. Today on a couple walks to the mailbox,the frozen precipitation was like a mist and the hat kept it off my head and away from the collar of my coat.
