A thought-provoking orientation to A Course in Miracles
1 of 1 found this helpful Williamson provided me an inspiring and useful overview of A Course in Miracles. Her writing did for me what I look for in these sorts of books: it got me to see my life differently -- in a fuller and what I'd call more "spiritual" way. She accomplishes this, in part, by holding me accountable and showing me a way to self-actualization (finding one's inherent integrity). No shortcuts. Just apt counsel for the necessary hard work. To compare, Eckhart Tolle's books touched me in a similar way, or Jon Kabat - Zinn's books (coming at the spiritual from a Zen orientation).

Intelligent and Nuanced Introduction to Transgender Issues
I found this a thoughtful, articulate and carefully reasoned set of essays that presents the biases that trans women (primarily trans women) face. As I'm just beginning to figure out my own way around being trans, I found this book immensely helpful. Lots of highlighting and notes in my copy; I consider this a strong start for anyone wanting to orient him- or herself to the political and cultural issues that trans people face in America (at least up to the time the book was published (2007).

A quiet account of the astonishing
This book speaks to an audience of hypnotherapists but easily engages a lay audience. Newton's Journey of Souls might be a better starting place. I appreciate his measured case-based reporting of a world forever out of reach of our scientific instruments. I'm grateful for the way that the content of this book has touched me.
