A brilliant, undeservedly obscure lyricist and singer
Rebecca Pidgeon has a heartbreakingly beautiful voice, she writes poignant, highly intelligent lyrics, and does exceptional covers on other albums. Her "Auld Lang Syne" medley, with the spoken word prelude she wrote herself, will wipe you away. Also: this is an especially beautiful Chesky recording, a label most jazz singers would kill to record on. I can't wait for her next record, which will drop this spring.

Possibly the most fully realized novel by an indisputably great writer.
Often darkly funny, yes, but this is also wild, high, beautiful, thoroughly compelling writing.
