Kubota Tractor Engine Block Heater for: M B & L Series 3, 4 & 5 cyl Engines
Dec 20, 2019
Install & start-up goes well if your prepared and have the right tools.
This block heater is 3/4" NPT threads, the B3200 block "freeze" plug is 1" NPT so you will need a 3/4" x 1" NPT bushing for the installation. The Stock Kubota block plug is easy to get to with the left side panel removed. It is best to use a 17mm hex socket with a 1/2" drive breaker swing bar. I used teflon tape between the brass block heater and bushing, and used Plumbers white pipe dope for the bushing to the block. Use the antifreeze drain valve as not to make a mess, refill with fresh 50/50 antifreeze. DO NOT plug in the block heater until you have run the engine gotten the antifreeze to circulate have the thermostat open to get the air out of the system. Plug in the heater once all the air purging is done and fluids levels are up to normal. I had no leaks. I have used the block heater and it warms up, so I would say it is good. I cannot comment on how long it will last because it has only been a short while. I would rate it to be a good value but it must last about 10 years, check back in 2029 to see if it is still working. It would have got a 5 star if the heater was 1" npt and I didn't have to buy a bushing.
