The rubber grommet was too wide for the application. I ended up having to sand down the rubber grommet that was part of this kit to allow room to then slip in the hairpin clip.

Stripped approx 60lbs of wire so far!
This tool can strip wires on down to 14ga solid. I just finished a variety of gauges (14 on up to #6). It takes a minute to set up the tool to the proper diameter (too loose, it doesn’t cut through the insulation. Too tight and it will start cutting into the copper and almost slow down the machine). Finding that happy medium is key. I recommend pre cutting to length the fully sheathed wire first. Approx 4 ft for length. Then set the tool to cut the outer sheath. After stopping the sheath, that will leave you with insulated strands. Then set the tool for the individual strands. If you’re running different gauges I recommend you separate out the different gauges so you can set the tool and run all of one gauge through for a given time. I also recommend using a driver drill to perform this. The one thing I noticed with the tool is if you have the inlet hole guide bracket mounted to the upper holes and slid all the way up, the cutter wheel can rub against the guide and stop the cutter wheel from turning. If this happens, the wire will not feed at all. Both the pulling v-wheel set AND the cutter wheel need to be free to rotate. Sometimes you need to pull slightly on the wire to promote the wire through (if the wire is waxy for example). So far a great tool. Cutter wheel has maintained a good edge. I am very pleased with my purchase.
