Great value and very reliable.
1 of 1 found this helpful This is a great smoker for the price. It's simple to use and has been very reliable for me so far. My only complaint is that the heating element is a little underpowered. I live in New England and have found that when the temperature outside is around freezing, this unit can't maintain much more than 200 degrees even at the highest setting. A quick fix for this is a $25 fiberglass insulation blanket which I just place over the entire smoker and bungie in place. With it, I've had this thing up to 275 with snow on the ground.
Aside from that, I really can't find fault with the unit. I scored it for around 100 bucks and it performs as well as my last electric smoker which cost over 300. It's also a lot easier to clean. The heating element and all of the electronics slide out and let you go to town on the metal box without the risk of shorting something out. In terms of features, it is bare-bones. Personally, I like the simplicity. The analog thermostat does an adequate job without phone pairing and manuals etc. As someone who BBQs a lot, I can tell you that the temperature of the smoker doesn't have to be exact as your measure of doneness is not time but the internal temperature of the meat.
