Trans by Neil Young
1 of 1 found this helpful Though not mainstream Neil Young music, it is still Young's creative and imaginative mind that created this controversial album in 1982. I have been a Young fan for a long time. It was refreshing in 1982 to see that he tried something different instead of being one of those artists that write very predictable music, and never dare to venture outside their "comfort zone". Today, the only place to find Neil Young's Trans CD is by looking at the import market...or a little searching on eBay. Found a great seller there that asked a very reasonable price...and though NOT the same fidelity as was produced on the LP I bought in 1982, it sounds great to hear this album gain.
Being a big Gold Rush and Crazy Horse fan, straying from those albums Trans still holds one of my favorite songs..."Hold On to Your Love". Neil's venture into synthesized voice, as in "Transformer Man", "Computer Age" and "Sample and Hold" is where the Neil Young Nation was caught off-guard by his genius. This album fit-in nicely in the early 80's, and even though it varied from songs like "Cinnamon Girl" and "Harvest Moon"...it kept a lot of Neil Young fans happy. Those that appreciate Neil Young the ARTIST.
Trans is, and has always been, a testament to Neil's genius. And for those that prefer not to hear his voice synthesized...he does a great rendition of "Transformer Man" on his MTV Unplugged album. It was awesome. However, I will still take the 1982 version. He took a risk with Trans. And again, it is a testament to his resiliency and willingness to make music HE wants to perform. If you are a Neil Young fan, your collection is not complete without Trans!

Arrived in time and in good condition. If you don’t have steady hands you may need a little assistance since the bulbs are not attached with these lights, and the wires are tiny. It’s not screw in. But, they are almost all like that…this one is a nice unit for the price.

A Classic!
What else can be said about this film. I watched it first almost 50 years ago, and I still can’t wait to see it each year at Christmas. It’s a simple film, Laurel and Hardy at their comedic slapstick best. Sure, they made a film or two where they were more engaging. But take Stan and Ollie, mix it up a bit with a fairy tale and it’s a classic.
