Heavier than original but really comfortable
On first glance this seat is made well and the craftsmanship is top notch. When installed on the bike it leaves a little to be desired. The seat does not fit as well as I hoped for and has a slight movement in the front where the tab latches in. I am sure this can be corrected with a small bushing or shim but for the price I would think it would be a perfect fit. At the front of the seat a 1/4" gap is left between the gas tank. This particular item was for my 2005 Yamaha R6 but the rear pillion cover did not fit my rear pillion at all. I contacted saddlemen directly and they admitted it is possible the wrong cover was placed in the package and sent me the correct cover the same day I called. I called again because I decided to customize my rear pillion to match the front seat exactly and they sold me the material and the center stripping at an ideal cost and expedited the shipping at my request. The customer service is top notch at this company.

Perfect fit, WATCH OUT FOR KNOCK OFFS
I bought this seat as a replacement for the one I lost on my Yamaha R6 street fighter. I planned to recover the seat so the small blemishes were not a concern. This seat fits my bike perfectly. I ordered another rear seat from a knock off company and that seat does not fit at all. It's loose and leaves gaps around the faring. BEWARE OF CHEAP KNOCK OFFS
