Plug and play.
It functions as claimed, no complications when connecting to mains electricity.

Confounded by Jaguar planning policies.
I purchased this item with the intention of using it in a 2002 MY Jaguar XK8. I was fully aware of the anomaly between the edition year of the disc and the 2002 MY of my car, but I foolishly assumed that, because Jaguar were constantly producing updated versions of the disc, they would at least continue compatibility with each succeeding update. The disc arrived in pristine condition and I must assume it will work perfectly in a 2010 MY XK8 and probably all Jaguar models produced at that year. This problem is an example of Jaguars' arcane planning in changing various design details in succeeding models, especially the wiring schemes in entirely similar systems in succeeding models of the same car, such as the XK8 models of 2002 . Unfortunately I cannot give a quality evaluation of the disc as purchased for the reasons outlined. That is to say, it will not function in my car.
