Nice Option. Bought for Great Grand Child. Expensive, but how does one put a price on something as precious as a child??

It works
Bought it mount conventional Weaver and Picannity based gear. It aligned perfectly with 597's pre-drilled holes. Screws were deep enough to firmly and securely attach mount. Works fine.

Big Difference

I liked my 870 12 gauge a lot but couldn't put more than a few shells through it before my shoulder screamed at me...saw an ad for the above [gen I version] and took a chance ... amazing difference... claim to reduce felt recoil by half is about right...took a little bit of adjusting to, but soon the Stock felt normal and comfortable. Can't handle the recoil of a 12 gauge, get one, it's worth it.
