Excellent product

I'm usually leery of big claims on items like this. They say it does so many different functions and for the price I didn't truly believe all of the hype. But I ordered it anyway and I have to say I love it. So far it's done everything they claim. It runs off of my solar voltaic system and even though it's slow to charge it does a great job of conditioning every rechargeable battery I've put through it. It's become a must have in my big box of tools.

SONY STR-DE897 7.1 Channel 770 Watt Home Theater Receiver

Awesome amp, especially for it's age.

This is my second DE897. The first one is about a decade old. It has features that were cutting edge when it came out. Sound quality is fantastic and after setting up 7.1 properly it rocks our home theater. The only thing I stress about is the high temps it runs at. This is typical off Sony amps though. I have had to repair my first receiver two times, all heat related, but when it failed a third time and the cost of parts was about the same price as replacing it I decided to repeat the model and now I have a nearly complete unit for spare parts. Don't kid yourselves folks, this unit is magnificent.
