    Zildjian City Pack
If you want some high quality cymbals that sound great individually and also together, I recommend this City Pack. I hadn’t bought a cymbal pack in several years, opting for individual cymbals that I liked the sound of. This pack is a great choice especially if you are looking for cymbals that aren’t too loud in mid to smaller venues or practice areas. They also open up well when played loud. The hi hat chick on the 12” New Beats is the sweetest I’ve heard in person. Each cymbal has a lot of personality, sounds good and gives off a nice variety of sounds when hit in the various ways we drummers use to finesse cymbals. I would suggest listening to the videos on YouTube where drummers review this pack. What you hear in the videos is pretty much what you get. Sometimes you don’t know because various music outlets will mix the cymbals to sound glorious when sometimes they sound like garbage in person. That was not the case with this pack though. The one thing that I had to get used to and learn about these cymbals was just that the ride can gather up some overtones and as you ride on the cymbal. I usually use 5a sticks but for softer groove oriented playing I switched to a 7a and noticed I had a lot more control over the overtones at that point. Again that was just on the ride cymbal and it is actually the first “dry” cymbal I have owned, so that may be a trademark of dry ride cymbals that I just haven’t had the experience with to understand. I hope this is helpful.
