Great filter with nice features
2 of 2 found this helpful Great overall product , takes many of the greatest features of Fluval's Aquaclear filters and adds a ton more. Own all 3 sizes and haven't had a problem with any of them. Only thing that I wish they would have made from the start is a choice of different sponges... the one that comes with it is fairly porous. Also , it does not come with carbon ( not really needed unless trying to rid your tank of medication / smells ) . I own filters from all of the most popular brands in the aquarium industry and Seachem and Aquaclear products tend to be my go-to brands due to the simplicity of their design. There are no cartridges to buy , no gimmicks , and very few negatives. If you over stuff the media tray on one of these Tidals , it can bypass ... but it's not a huge deal breaker.

Good filter
Bought this filter for a tetra 3 gallon tank mainly because the included tetra internal filter wasn't cutting it. The filter is a good value for the money , make sure to put petroleum jelly on the impeller shaft ( just like with aquaclear filters , marineland filters , etc and you'll be fine. The popping sound is air being ingested I believe by where the flow adjustment valve is, due to the o ring needing to have water on it to swell up and seal. The flow is alright , I swapped the stock media out for some marineland filter floss ( will buy other media off ebay in the future ) . I would recommend this for a betta tank if you stuff the filter with other media. Give it time to get fish slime , etc on the impeller and it'll be fine.
