CF is only about looks and it ain't CHEAP!
If you can afford $150 more then get the more expensive CF splitter. I got this product because I felt CF splitters were over priced but now, seeing the lack of strength in this product I'm now willing to pay more. This product is "paper thin" and I'm aware that CF is supposed to be strong but I don't see this surviving any mistakes while parking or going over bumps. I had to buy a splitter protector costing $280 made of 1/4" PBS which is essentially a sacrificial splitter under the CF splitter. The moral of the story is CF is always going to be expensive and in most cases over priced, absolutely not a decision about affordability or value. It does look good though.
