Canon EF-S 18-85 f/4-5.6 IS USM Lens

I am very pleased with this lens. It is very easy to use. I changed from an 18-55 lens to this one, so I am comparing it to that. The 17-85 is a much faster focusing lens, the USM being almost instant. Image stabilization works better than I expected, allowing you to take pictures that you can hear the pause while the shutter is open. This allows you to take pictures in a setting where flashes are not permitted, and still get great pictures. Just be sure to take them when your subject is motionless. The only negetive is the weight, which you will notice as soon as you put it on a Rebel XT or XTi. After using it a few days, the positives out weigh this one negative by a great deal. It is also better at taking pictures facing the sun. Ghosting and flare is much easier to eliminate.
