The new Alice in Wonderland
Miss Peregrine's Home is a terrific & entertaining book. I thoroughly enjoyed it & hope the author writes more. It's a modern day ALice in Wonderland, & is truly inspirational, especially with the 1910 & 1920's pictures of odd peculiarities. I highly recommend it.

Alexander McCall Smith is the ultimate psychological experience.
If you have not yet discovered Alexander McCall Smith, he is FABULOUS!!! A Scotsman, he has written widely, "Villa" is one of three books, The44 Scotland Street is 7 books, & Corduroy Mansions is another set. McCall Smith is the penultimate in characterizations, his No. 1 Ladies Detective Agency (7 books)
really puts you in Africa. His other books, in his own words, "Lets you truly experience Edinborough. This is what we are."
If you have ever traveled in Scotland or even the UK you will really appreciate his wit & style. Bon Voyage!!!!

Alexander McCall Smith is the ultimate psychological experience.
I am a LONG TIME FAN of Alexander McCall Smith, his 44 Scotland Street and Isabel Dalhousie series are FABULOUS, as is this new series beginning with Corduroy Mansions. McCall Smith provides an intimate newsy feel to Edinburgh & his characterizations are spot on. His books are the "New" Edinburgh, as he says, and you will enjoy all his work immensely.
