Easy to Use, Does the Job
These are just a good fabric staples to hold weed block fabric in place. I've used them over the years, and yes, they do rust. However, it takes years to dissolve them, and considering how infrequently you replace the fabric, it's a win from a cost and efficiency point of view.
WB06X10420 Genuine GE Microwave Coupler for Glass Tray AP3416049 PS651211

Direct OEM Replacment, Easy to Install
I needed a turntable coupler for an older GE microwave. The plastic tangs that set into the glass had broken off, but there was no help from the GE website or personnel. All that was available for my model microwave was the glass plate and the roller piece under it. I looked online for something similar and came across this part. My main concerns were that the length of the post would be too short (I was OK with cutting if it was too long) and the tangs not fitting into the glass. There were a few part numbers available, but since I still had the post or shaft from the broken one, I was able to look at its color and see if there were any identifiable stampings. This was the closest as it was about an inch long and brown. As it turned out, it was a direct replacement. All I had to do was push the coupler onto the motor shaft and make sure it seated properly. A little maneuvering was required due to the piece of plastic extending from the post. I believe this piece sets under the metal frame of the microwave to provide extra stability. Anyway, all is good now.
Craftsman 12 point 12 mm Metric Combination Wrench - Made In USA
Jun 07, 2017
Quality Tool, Made in USA
I was specifically looking for a 12 point 12 mm combination wrench to add to a Craftsman set I purchased many years ago. That set was Made in USA and started at 8 mm and ran through 19 mm, but for some reason it didn't include 12 mm, 16 mm or 18 mm wrenches. I use a 12 mm far more often and on a whim looked for one Made in USA. Let me start by saying the Craftsman brand isn't what it used to be, and after many years of working with tools, I can safely say that most of the stuff out there is Chinese junk. I was of the opinion earlier in my life that it didn't matter, but it does. Life experiences have taught me that, and for most people a poorly made socket isn't going to matter, but it does for someone like me who frequently works on cars and motorcycles. For example, I had a 1/2" to 3/8" socket adapter from Craftsman for 30 years. Granted, it wasn't used daily but it was used often enough and in situations where I had to break bolts free. I broke it last year and had to get a replacement at Sears. The newer style Sears offers matches that of the one offered by Harbor Freight in that there's a taper to that 3/8" male portion. The Craftsman I had was a flat transition. I think that provides extra strength, but in an effort to save weight or maybe improve aesthetics, they've opted to use this new design. I've shredded a few Harbor Freight adapters within a few days of buying them, and the new Craftsman was no different. That's a lot of information but that's my mindset when looking for tools I plan to use frequently or in applications that require a more accurate fit. As far as mass produced tools go, Taiwanese and Indian tools are OK. Craftsman opted to outsource much of their hand tools a few years back, so most wrenches, sockets and ratchets are made overseas. Anyway, I was able to find this wrench and it's exactly what I wanted. Advertisement was spot on, now I'm looking for the other sizes I need.
