I’ve been a seller for years. Sell varied items with focus on scale modeling and musical items. I’m a
professional model builder, with a passion for it since I was 10. Mostly build military related subject matter, but sometimes build other subjects.

I am also a long time working drummer, and dabble playing guitar. So I routinely sell musical items.

Meng 1/72 model kit of the CONVAIR F-106A DELTA DART - DS006

The quality and detailing of the kit is high quality as you would expect from a modern tooling. I think the cost is a bit high for a 1/72 kit with no resin options but these days I guess this is what one expects. The Instruction manual is of high quality with excellent color paint guides. The decals are great. The reason I give it a 4 out of 5 is for several reasons. One I mentioned which is overall value/cost factor. The 2nd is overall fit was not as good as expected in some areas. One area was the whole wing to fuselage assembly process with intakes involved. Somewhat over engineered making it more complicated then it needed to be leading to possible error and more fit issues. Definitely study this area and check, double check before gluing. I was left with some gaping in the wing roots and to minimize this I had to really squeeze the fuselage tightly around the intakes and press the wing assembly with lots of force using a combination of vises and braces. Even after that there were still gaps but minimized to a point that a fix was fairly easy. I used very thin strips of plastic to sort of shim into the gap filling the gap and fitting into the nice wing to fuse blend at the root minimizing need for putty and lots of sanding saving skin details. Another thing I have found with MENG products is the plastic tree to part attachment points are always in the worst place. Sometimes they are attached at a mating surface with irregular surface making it hard to snip and smooth without destroying some fine contour needed for a part to fit. This may have actually contributed to my fit issues because lots of sanding points due to parts attachment stubs on these crucial surfaces. Overall this builds into the best 1/72 F-106A on the market and detail rivals the larger 1/48 brothers of same aircraft but this comes at a cost of being expensive and overall complicated making this a more challenging build not recommended to inexperienced modelers. Also I usually build at 1/48 scale so I had a bit of adjustment to the smaller parts and details, especially the weapons bays, and landing gear details and painting.

T-38 Talon Build Review
I have built a lot of models, and I consider myself a professional builder. I share this b/c I need to report that this was one of the easiest, sweetest builds I have come across. Trumpeter has engineered this model perfectly. The parts even stick together w/o glue at times making it easy to test fit prior to gluing. The end result is a beautiful, enjoyable build with a great replica of the iconic T-38 Talon. I have included a few pictures of the finished model. This plane was made to order for an ex-airforce officer who graduated from the Airforce Academy and flew in this particular plane. He is very happy with the end product.

Great model but link track difficult to assemble and very time consuming. I have built other MENG models and this one is not as nice, but still a quality product.
