Tamiya RC Cars Driver Figure 4X4 Pick Up Toyota Bruiser EP 1:10 Truck #54416
    Jun 17, 2016
    I needed a driver...
...for my DeCool (like Lego) Formula-1 race car, which is 1:8 scale. The cockpit of the F-1 car is narrow; I constructed a home-made drivers seat and head-rest for it from wood, painted black. The Tamiya 1:10 Driver Figure worked for my need, with some modification. I left the arms off (driver compartment too narrow); disconnected the two legs from the torso, and reduced the height of the torso, so that the figure sits low in the car. Then I re-installed the legs spread a bit so that they do not interfere with the car's operating steering wheel. I painted the driver's suit, jacket and pants, using flat red paint (Testor's brand), which matches the car body almost perfectly. The Helmet is painted red but glossy not flat. For the driver's face I used flat medium brown (looks like coffee mixed with cream). The driver's shirt (beneath jacket) is yellow. I trimmed the uniform with three white stripes, one wide one across the chest, and two narrow ones on the shoulders. Looks great!

Preiser 1/87 HO Statue Of Justice SCALE PLASTIC FIGURE 29076
    Dec 28, 2017
    I used this statue ...
...for an unusual purpose. My musical globe with a literary theme had broken, one of the figurines (whose identity I don't recall) on the round "shelf" having been lost or destroyed. I searched the internet for a tiny statue and found this "Lady Justice." Perfect size for the purpose. Used the black plastic base that came with the figurine as well. Here are a couple of pictures:
