1 of 3 found this helpful The lathe came with a broken lead screw. The motor mounting is very low qualitly and it was difficult to adjust the belt. I had to fix that. The gibs are straight up junk. They will not stay adjusted' if you snug them up you can't move the cross slide or tool slide. If you have them loose enough to move them freely you get bad chatter and vibrations when cutting. The motor is very week and will slow down when drilling or taking a .020 pass. The gears are very loud and do not mesh well at all. The forward and reverse lever will allow proper alingment of the gears and the they will bind up and stall the motor in the reverse setting. the bed is machined so badly that it has a .014 cut differance over a 6 inch piece. Try to adjust a 14 inch bed. I got what I payed for, a cheap nearly useless bench warmer.
