There are a few interesting ideas that were used as foundations for this movie.
0 of 1 found this helpful "Bloody Birthday" has nothing special about it. It looks like it was a 'made-for-TV" movie. It's not awful but barely "Okay". There are a few interesting ideas that were used as foundations for this movie. But the development and final product were substandard. It's the quintessential: "Well if nothing else is on, then it will be Okay.", movie. If in the first 10 minutes we met all of the characters, then their town was destroyed by a meteor; we'd say "Oh, good. I hope this next batch are good characters." This movie is not horrible, it's just not good.
Main plot: Three babies are born during an eclipse. This makes parts or their zodiac chart missing. They are sociopaths that are linked by their birth time. At what ever age they are [let's say 12 years old] they decide it's time to start a murder spree. One older girl -in town- figures it out... but the kids have convinced the towns folk not to listen to her. "OHHH, can anything stop the [boring] murders???" Wait till nothing else is on to find out.

It's more of a very sad fairytale with an attempt to give a feeling of human tragedy then a horror film.
Offshoots of a drug cartel created this suffering. This is about the refugees of destroyed families South of the Border. It's specifically about small children of those families trying to find survival in an impoverished area after their homes and families are ruined. There are necessary aspects of human life and sustenance that are ignored in presenting this story. If you think about this while watching it will distract form the film.
This story has some of the attributes of "The Monkey's Paw". There are 3 pieces of magic chalk that grant wishes with an unexpected price added on. To this there are mostly good F/X added. But the F/X are sparsely used.
The filming is very good. The acting of the children is very good. Their characters are likeable. The 'sets' appear to be real buildings that were once opulent and are now decaying.
Many will dump this into the horror genre but it's more of a very sad fairytale with an attempt to give a feeling of human tragedy. For people that want the 'Hollywood feel' you should probably look elsewhere. Expect something almost Avant Garde in the tale. This Avant Garde is not bizarre of weird it's just unusual.

possibly the best werewolf movies that i've seen.
1 of 1 found this helpful in the other reviews you can get the over all story. most werewolf/ wolf-man movies are poor. this one stands far above the rest. the story was nice. the filming was great. the actors and their abilities were very good. the director did a great job. i felt there were no problems with pace. i do not remember the musical score. characterization was very good. lots of action and tension. the location was nice for the film. there was a lot of blood but not over the top like in: 'freddy vs. jason'. i can see an argument against the werewolf f/x, but i can, also, see some people loving the look. personally i like the look from: 'werewolf of london'(1935?) [NOT: to be confused with 'an american werewolf in london'.]
so, this is more of a quality review. my final finishing note is: i'm cheap. i will rarely spend more then $5 on a dvd. i got this with shipping for about $3.oo. i would have paid $10.oo for a brand new dvd. this is better then the vast majority of horror movies; and if not the best werewolf movie then one of the best.
