Melts wax
Even though it is only 17 watts, I was able to use this wax warmer / mug warmer to melt a quarter pound of room-temperature paraffin wax in a metal container to make waterproof tinder. Granted, it took about 2 1/2 hours, but it didn’t scorch the tabletop either. It is keeping the wax liquid at a comfy 173 degrees Fahrenheit. I suspect it would work fine for keeping a beverage warm in the right kind of mug.

Good value for the price
1 of 1 found this helpful The Marbles’s M390 Camp Combo I received included 3 items. The aluminum carabiner is small (1 1/2” long, tapers from 1/2” to 3/4” wide) but functional. The “Camper’s Best Friend” is lightweight but sturdy, and will open cans almost as well as a P-38. At 100 mm (4”) long, it is slightly longer and more practical than an Aussie FRED as a utensil, and is adequate for eating from dishes or shallow bowls/cups. The spork end has a capacity of about 1/2 tsp (~2ml), so not optimal for soup (drink it from your mug!). The “GI Utility Knife” is sturdy and well made, very comparable to the Camillus demo knife I EDC’ed back in the ‘70s. Hope the springs last longer than the ones on the Camillus, which broke after 6 months. The blade arrived sharp (ok, maybe less sharp than a new SAK) and has stayed sharp after whittling and other cutting chores. The other implements also seem serviceable, and don’t rub on each other when closing, as some earlier reviewers had noted.
