Replacement for failed adapter
This was purchased as a replacement for the one I received with my tablet. That one failed within 3 months. This one is performing correctly and, so far, has not failed. It is in constant use, not just for the tablet, but for other devices. Good product. I particularly like the sliding Earth pin - this will make it easier to pack when I go on holiday or need to bring it with me on various trips.

Good read and reference for the serious student or professional
In terms of furthering an understanding of Alcibiades and his impact on the Peloponnesian War, this is a good book with a lot of very interesting detail. However, it is written in a scholarly fashion and I found it very difficult to read. Sentences were extremely long, peppered with phrases and with such poor punctuation that I had to read them several times to make any sense of them. A sentence would often cover half a page.
It is a book to be studied, not read, and I should think that making notes as you study would be a very good idea. To get the maximum value from this book, I would also suggest that he reader should have a good working knowledge of the Peloponnesian War, from, at least, Thucydides (Donald Kagan's book "The Peloponnesian War" would help even more). Being now familiar with the book, it will serve as an excellent reference.

IPod - the Rotten Apple
11 of 27 found this helpful I only bought the iPod because my car came with a convertor for the car radio but it appears that the convertor is not working so the IPod was a waste of money.
I despise the IPod - not so much as an MP3 player but for the ITunes software one has to use to load the thing. It is probably the most useless piece of software ever produced, deliberately designed (I use the word loosely) to make it as difficult as possible to load and manage your music. What's wrong with a simple hard-drive interface - just move your music into the thing and play it. Oh no - they have to covert it to something or other then you have to buy an expensive (£100+) unit to interface it with your car radio. In order to do that, you have to use exact words for each playlist(like Honda1 etc) and remember what you loaded into into the playlist because you sure as H**l will forget - how useless is that.
Oh sure - it's really pretty. But pretty is what pretty does and if you have poles for fingers joined to a shovel for a hands, try diddling round a dainty little ring and pressing a hypersensitive switch only once.
Be very clear about this - the IPod is designed to promote the sale of music through ITunes - it's there for their convenience not yours - it's there to make money out of you. If all your looking for is an MP3 player, then buy a decent one which was designed to meet your needs - not theirs!
