High Accuracy Quartz Watch - Accurate to within 10Secs a Year!
3 of 3 found this helpful This is probably one of the most affordable High Accuracy Quartz Watches you can buy. I have this one and also the Lunar Pilot, which is a modern version of the Watch that Astronaut Dave Scott wore on the Moon during the Apollo 15 mission. These watches have some serious horological history!
The original Lunar Pilot watch was Dave Scott's own watch made for him by Bulova. He used it on the Moon after his NASA issued Omega Speedmaster watch failed. Bulova realised that most watches were made to resist external pressure, but in Space, that is not the problem, zero or near zero vacuum is the issue. If the watch was made on Earth, then in Space, the internal pressure of One Atmosphere will still be in the watch. On his Omega, this caused the watch glass or crystal to pop off! Bulova had accounted for this in the way the crystal is mounted.
The other incredible thing about these watches is the Precisionist Quartz movement. With Precisionist, Bulova has added a third prong to a standard two prong quartz crystal creating a torsional resonator. This innovation results in eight times the vibration frequency of a traditional quartz watch resulting in the most accurate watch with a continuously sweeping second hand. The aesthetic movement of the second hand becomes the symbol to the consumer of Bulova Precisionist and signals a watch with accuracy so exceptional, you can see it.
You need to see the mesmeric slow sweep of the second hand to appreciate just how special these watches are. With 100m water resistance, and a Date Complication, this version is an every day Man's Watch, that is at home in a business suit as it is with T Shirt and Jeans or Shorts on a beach.

I use these in a TI Calculator, they last far longer than the Alkaline versions

Quality ballpoint pen with affordable refills!
If you have any doubts pick up one of these pens and write with it.
It is the smoothest ballpoint pen I have used and they are affordable, so I have one with a bold blue ink, one with a fine point black ink and another with a retractable pencil. Those three on my desk fulfil 99.9% of my writing needs.
