Sweet and True to the Book
This version is so true to the book and the lead actress was superb. I was always a fan of the Shirley Temple version but didn't realize that it had detoured so much from the book until I read it recently. After finishing the book I of course wanted to watch every version out there, and stumbled upon this one on Amazon Prime, but it abruptly ended about 3/4s of the way through! I was so happy to find a copy of the DVD on Ebay. It is a delightful version for those who love the book! :)

Lovely Music for a Lovely Movie
Since this is one of my all-time favorite movies, I was excited to find the CD available on ebay. I listen to it all the time....it takes me right into the world of the "Grass Valley Quilting Bee". I love how each character has her own theme, and also that the songs of the times (4o's & 50's) are included with all the sweeping melodies. What a pleasure it is to listen to!

Charming Little Movie
This is a somewhat quirky yet charming little love story. I had seen it years ago on TV and was glad to see it up for auction. It starts with 2 Liverpool girls out on the town who meet 2 Russian sailors. Though one girl is only interested in "having a good time", the other girl is desiring romance and more out of life than what her friends have in Liverpool. The look and feel is totally '80's, and it's fun seeing different locations around Liverpool. The dialogue is really simple, (though sometimes hard for me to understand as an American), but the movie definitely unique, and it leaves me smiling.
