For the thoughtful Anime fan
For anyone who's watching enough anime to realize it's not all giant suits & magic schoolgirls, and enjoys diving for the deeper content & concepts in Japan's finest, I highly recommend this book. It's so well researched and documented, it either was written for college textbook use, or it certainly could be it it's not. There's also a companion volume, Manga and Philosophy, and if those 2 aren't enough, the bibliography could keep you interested for years! Highly recommended.

Yes at their best
Seeing them recently inducted into the R&R Hall of Fame reminded me how much I loved this band & how much I missed them since selling off my vinyl. These high-concept prog rockers were pioneers, but their music ages very well & still stands the rest of time. Because of their lengthy almost classical style of composing, for Yes a greatest hits album just won't do it. This album and The Yes Album make a nice set to cover most old favorites and give you the full Yes experience. Highly recommended!
