Note that this part is rubber and goes over the existing hard plastic cover. It fits good and covers most of the old plastic. The switches both under the missing original buttons and the switches with intact button covers work good. The harder plastic case option offered by other products is a cleaner, original looking result with slightly more installation difficulty.

Works good - plugin or unplug only with ignition totally off
Note that sometime it can trigger false communication errors according to the car's control modules. These go away with a few car on and off cycles with the ELM327 device unplugged. You might have to unplug the car's battery for 30 seconds. Just be careful when you plug and unplug the module -- doing so ONLY with the ignition off can prevent or all most of the errors.
